I blew 2 abs activator and it was covered under warantee. But be carefully before you roll into the stealership because they will blame it on any mods they can find. Mine started with some rubbing noise within the first 5 seconds of driving by the front wheels.

ABS Replacement

I have 2003 SE and there was a godawful metallic noise that came from the front brakes for about 3 seconds with loss of braking. The ABS light then came on but the car retained full braking capabilities (but obviously no ABS). Next day I started and drove the vehicle, the ABS light was out and the metallic noise repeated at braking at end of my street. I brought into the dealership and they diagnosed it as a problem with the actuators (the whole hydraulics and logic board) which was a $1250 part. I was fully covered for parts and labor under the min 36K mile warranty (had 23K on vehicle)

I have a 2001 and i just brought it in today to see why the ABS light is on. It's been on for 8 months or so but i jsut kept ignoring it because mechanics told me it would be ok to drive with it on... Just wont get the ABS... It costed 80 bucks to get it read and they quoted me $190 to get Left Rear ABS speed sensor replaced. The head guy said its a popular thing so hope that helps you out. Im going to try and find if a local garage can fix it for cheaper... but well see
