When you ask about lasting longer and then mention oil changes, I'm guessing you mean the engine .. odds are the engine will outlast the whole car. Yes I have the same light down there. What's your MPG, it helps if you would've posted actual numbers you know ... Congrats on the buy ...

First things first, it's "What's", not wuts.

Secondly, the gas mileage is poor, but could be worse if you repeatedly floor it. You have an auto so you should be less tempted than those of us with 6-speeds.

In regards to the light under the HVAC controls, I'm not sure if we all have it, but I'm assuming we do. I like it.

If you want the car to last long, don't beat on it or forget basic maintenance.

Good choice, sounds like my car except for the auto and I'm twice you age, couldn't have afforded one at 19.

If you have salt or sand on the roads, go for a good undercoating and try bbq paint on the exhaust system. I bought a Nissan hood bra for mine for $50, looks good and saves the front of the hood.

MPG could be a lot better in the Maxima but it is a heavy car and with a/c well you know. You'll probably gey better mileage after the novelty of 255 hp wares off.

the thing in the tach says i get around 24.3mpg but the needle seems like it moves way more than that figure. should i look for anything in particular on it with 40k miles on it?

Just because someone is a newb doesn't mean he knows nothing about cars. He could know a lot more than you could ever learn.

i found out that the mpg meter on the dash is off by around 3mpg in my car. it says i get around 26.8 right now, but with manual calculation it's off. the a/c and WOT is what affects mpg the most, i think.

That thing in the dash is always optimistic ... do your own math on MPG's, it's not that hard.

Who the hell cares??? Post something useful instead of this crap.

Anyways, your MPG is pretty much normal, but without any actual numbers, tough to be sure. Also, you are in the NE so be wary of your nifty HID headlights. Congrats on the purchase.

wut about the HID lights and just another thing this car is totally awesome. i dont usually talk about this stuff, but today a stupid 99-03 grand prix GTP pulls up to the light and i was accidently in the wrong lane to go to my house and when it turned green he floored it and so did i and i beat him by 1-2 car lengths, and to those who want to nit pick at that he was tryin and i we did start at same spot/time. i usually never beat on my cars but i almost couldn't resist. I felt bad for "Max" afterwards though!
