Another way to open headlight

I had to open my headlight to do a retrofit with Bosch projector. Unfortunately the headlight didn’t fit into the oven. The European ovens are much smaller (like everything else over here). But I was lucky it was hot sunny day. I left the light on the sun for two hours and the glue melted quite nicely. The advantage is that you don’t have to wary about melting anything in the oven and it’s not cooling down while working on it.

very nice... im also guessing the headligth housing isn't too hot either (cause it is too hot to touch sometimes after leaving it in the oven). Looks like you got the e46 single xenon projectors... they are really really wide and when modded can look really nice. BTW, the projector is upside down, but you prolly already know that lol (it could happen). Good luck with the retro...

OK, irish....now you have no more excuses not to clear yours.

I think some guys have used a hair dryer/heat gun, but the problem is that you're only heating a small area at one time. I think they kinda pryed it open a bit at a time. Not the easiest way IMO. It would be better to heat the whole housing evenly. Solar power, baby!
