Yet Another Blown MAF, I think ??
Drove my totallt stock 2003 SE w/ 52K miles to the Denver airport last Saturday and it ran fine, got it in last night and when it started it stumbled and stalled, turned the key again and it ran and the SES light popped on. As I pulled away at 2200rpms it bucked like a bronco. As long as I kept the rpms under 2200 I was able to make it home.
Guess I'll swing by the local dealer and see if I can buy just the MAF and not the entire housing. If they won't sell me one I'll check the FAQ's for Dave B's contact info and order one from him.
I know I've got to disconnect the battery when I do the reinstall but is there a sequence to get rid of the SES?
Thanks.
Brian

it's definitely the MAF. this is exactly what happened to my 2nd MAF. I highly believe blown MAF's are caused by first: dirty or oil from filter, second: vibration. I highly believe both of my MAF (22680-AM600) blew from vibration.

Just made 2 trips to the local dealer, Peak Nissan in Littleton, CO. On the 1st trip the parts guy brought out a sensor element and said I'd need to bring mine in to match the part #'s. On the 2nd trip I brought in my sensor element, that has no #'s on it, and the 2nd parts guy said sorry there was no way to buy that part ... $500 please. I explained I'd just seen the element brought out by another guy 15 minutes ago and he said it didn't exist.
I've now got a 2nd dealer trying to find a part #.

the AM600s do not fail from oil, however vibration is definitely a cause. If you have a Place Racing or Cattman CAI, you will want to reuse the stock flex section.

Mine is blown, Nissan wants $600cdn for it...Can't find it anywhere and I need my damn car. Funny thing is it ran fine with the engine light on, when Nissan reset the ECU its starting now buck and attempt to stall. I can't take it...Why is a part so hard to find let alone so damn expensive.
