2k1 AE vs. 2k1 330Ci Drag Race Outcome

I barely beat my brother in his 2k1 BMW 330Ci coupe. His is bone stock while I have: Injen CAI, +2 degree timing advance, Stillen grounding kit, B&M short throw shifter, Cattman Y-Pipe, custom racing mid-pipe and GReddy EVO II catback exhaust. The point is, why the hell did I just barely beat him by a hoods length when his car is bone stock and I have these mods? If your wondering on the specs for the 330Ci it's: 225 HP 214 lbs-ft 3.0L I6. 0-60 in approximately 5.9secs. I have an APEXi S-AFC II and ZEX wet kit waiting to be installed (when I get the time), but that's besides the point.

he's not lighter at all. i would venture to say........powerband, he's got a better torque supply, gearing (6spd right?), and rwd=pWn you in a launch

Maybe it's the Stillen kit? You might want to have it tuned up...

Inline 6s are far more efficient at producing power. In addition to that, BMW's have very aggressive gearing...and then you have the RWD which helps quite a bit.

Ci is the heavy azz convertible and auto correct? If so, that slows him down big time.

A 330i w/5spd manual would have been the other way around I'd bet, ie him a car length ahead. A couple guys at work have 330i's with manual trans and they smoothly pull away from my stock car.
