'00 plenum
'00 plenum
I recently took my '00 in for replacement of another O2 sensor and the shop said that another O2 has also gone bad. This would make a total of 6 O2 sensors gone bad in almost 6 years. They also said the plenum gasket was causinga vacuum leak and needs to replaced. This gasket may prevent them from having to replace the O2 sensors. Of course the "part can only be ordered through Nissan" was their statement. Any after market Plenums? I know Crawford makes a beautiful one for my FX35, but has anybody replaced theirs on a Max?
no there arent any aftermarket plenums (he really means Intake Manifolds aka 00VI) call Dave Burnette he gets items for nissan at wholesale and no tax. Im not sure of his phone number though its somewhere on these boards. In the Stickies
It's the gasket that nees to replacing. They aren't a Nissan dealer but they deal with mostly imports. Tey figure about 4 hours labour in it (diagnostics, repair). Estimated about $250.00. If the O2's still are bad it's gonna be about $500.00 total.
A Nissan dealer will probably be able to do the job for the same money - it might be better to have it done at a dealer. The plenum gasket is not "hard' to replace... just depends on how much you like to take on.
