TCM reset procedure for 5.0th gen?

Please don't blame me for asking this question. I tried to search. Browsed all the stickies and found one but for 5.5th gen. "how to" reset TCM on my 2k1 max and does anyone have list of possible errors. I have 90k and last time my tranny behaives very strange. feels like a big delay between 2nd 'n 3rd gears when i floor it.
Thanks.

you CAN NOT reset the TCM (transmission control module)
only the ECU (electronic control unit)
if your TCM goes bad you have to get a new one like i did.

soonerfan,
How did you make sure it rooted in TCM not in the A/T itself?
I'm having the same slipping.
Thanks!
Alex

i knew it wasnt the tranny because it had just gotten replaced under warranty. they didnt replace the TCM so the symptoms came back. i replaced the TCM before it wore out another tranny.

btw, you just earned lots of respect from me. instead of starting a new thread about a common problem...you did some research and found an old thread
