How do I install my new MAF in 2000 SE?

Got new maf (THANKS DAVE B!!) and might try to reinstall it. The stealership wants to charge me $225 to install and reprogram ECM. Maybe I could save some cash by installing on my own.

Is there a write here or somewhere else online that shows how to do this? Pictures help. I know once I get it in, it won't damage anything if I drive it 10 miles to the dealership, so I'm willing to try.

Anyone?

Open your hood, apply common sense.

holy lord I'm tired...

anyway, you have a 2000 so just remove the old one (you'll see how it's attached) and reset the ECU via the procedure outlined in the stickes.

Gotcha. But I've never done anything like this to my max. The most amount of 'repair' was removing my Bose subwoofer. Never touched the engine. Anyone know where I can find a write up, with pics etc?

seriously man, it really isn't that hard. when you pop the hood, just look at the MAF housing. you will see once you look at it, like someone else said, just apply common sense.

wow this thread is hilarious ... anyway the guy wants to know how to do it because he doesnt know exactly how much work to put into it .. just locate it it by your airbox .. unscrew whatever you need to to get to it and i think if its the same as my 03 then you just unscrew the four corners on the MAF and then replace with the new one ... i think all you need is a phillips screwdriver and a 10 mm socket

It's like asking I have a flat tire how do I replace ? I understand you are not so confident but it is only a matter of common sense, if you dont feel confortable then you should ask someone who's familiar with this, but otherwise it's pretty strait forward, you should start first by unplugging the battery, but let me see if I can load some pics later today those should help you do it.
