3rd gear is 1.000 on the automagic.
Also, most manuals use 3rd gear even though 4th would be closer to 1, since it's easier on the car and doesn't generate as much heat and need as much cool down.
Using 4th gear only matters if you want to compare you dynos to cars with dissimilar trannys, ie 6spds, autos, Ford, Toyota, yada yada.
People here should just state what they use...I'll always use 3rd, since it gives a smooth curve with plenty of time to gather enough data points for comparison/analysis.

I don't doubt you have a graph with those numbers . . . even though it still hasn't been posted. I do question the accuracy of those numbers.
I presume that your max hp was at redline. If the dyno shop is trying to impress you, they will not smooth the results and take out the spike when you hit the limiter. If, in addition, they do not give you an SAE printout, it might be possible for you to hit those numbers.
Based on my experience and dynos, you would indeed have to have a factory freak IMO to put down that whp number on an auto with those mods.
For reference, I put down 210/199 SAE with Cattman headers, plus all of my other mods. I do not have the SFC - but given my a/f I'm not sure it would help. I ran with cattman's catback but the stock muffler so may have lost a couple of hp there. And I have the heavy 17" wheels. Also, it was very hot - that should be corrected by going to SAE. Here's the kicker, though, I'm a 5spd. You ended up putting down 28 whp more than me . . . .
I think the reason this post started such a war is that there are many experienced maxima owners on this forum and your results, if accurate would be statistical outliers for certain.

These are dyno numbers from my 2k2 max on a dynojet w/ sae correction
You can go to this website for more discussion. I reached a max peak of 237hp but at certain points on the powerband there is a 30hp gain. My mods at the time were injen intake, Unorthodox UDP, and cattman headers.
http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....ht=header+dyno
Its very hard to compare vehicles when not compared on the same dyno. I know here in Louisville and Lexington there was someone who had a mustang dyno that showed numbers a lot lower than dynojet. But i am sure the are dynos that inflate numbers too. But its kinda of like taking the SAT and ACT. The SAT's are going to give bigger numbers than the ACT but it doesnt mean its better. You have to compare students who take the same SATs. Sorry horribly example i know but i think my point is proven.

Just like veryone else, I'm going to call BS. No way can the automatic 3.0 N/A do that w/o significant work. Max gator, nice #'s. I think I remember seeing one of your dynos where you disabled the VIAS or modified it in some way and laid down about 203 with a slight loss in midrange when compared to other 2k+ due to the VIAS mod.
Clarification, I put down 233whp in an automaitic 3.5 with headers, POP Intake and timing advance. Everything else is stock.

Auto DE-K with just headers should maybe be in the 190s so the numbers are off, I'm not saying they are not. I wonder when I show my dyno charts to people they will tell me I'm on crack.
AMG I ran 15.1 at the track in 100F heat, full tool box of tools, non working VIAS and never racing a Maxima at 1/4 mile, let alone in a 1K mile old Fidanza flywheel and ACT clutch that I wasn't even used to getting launches with. I know excusses are for pu$$ies, but I admitt fully- I'm not John Force here when it comes to 1/4 mile and that is why I don't drag.
AMG - Challenge me to a race track with some turns in it and I will sure show ya that peaky powerband, 5 gears and corner weight suspension with body bracings will have my little 3.0L blowing 100 octane fumes at the front end of your car. Anyone can race online, I have yet to see any proof, video or anyting showing the abilities of your car and you driving skill. I can have my little cousin thats 9 years old tell me the same BS on a forum as your are spewing.
To everyone else, I don't mind helping anyone out, but I'm sick of our moderator who thinks hes a ASE master tech and has a degree in mechanical engineering.

As I said eariler...I'll even pay for your track time. What you dont know is my car is on the same suspension as yours (except with 10kg/8kg) and it also has been corner balanced. I dont need video proof, come on down and I will show you just what I can do. Hell, ill even let your little cousin get it on tape.
I have a minor in mech engineering (3 more classes to make it a major) and Ive worked in a mercedes/bmw/porsche/audi shop for 6 years, and for a nissan dealer for 1. I never said anything about being a master tech.....

In his defense, he has done a ton more than you have. Being a test donkey on projects, working hand in hand with peeps making a difference. I hope when you call him out for a race "with twisties" it is within driving distance so that I may partake. No spray, I promise

Hold up a minute bro, i am not going to say e55amg or anyone else doesn't help people but i do know for a fact mike has helped me on numerous occassions w/ my car. He was even nice enough to call me on his cell phone to help me when i was trying to resolve some fuel delivery issues. I'm not trying to get in anyone's buisness but i just feel like mike goes out of his way to help people
BTW any of you 3.5l guys want to challenge my little 3.0 mouse powered motor
J/K i had to throw that in

And VQ35 + De-K Intake manifold will give the De-K's beautiful dyno curve only higher and with more torque. Best of both worlds.

Ive done the same for other members, I really like to help when I can.
chris, what kind of #s do you put down...I hear that thing is a beast

E55, I will reinforce that I'm not calling any kind of BS. I know you have extensive stuff done on your whip. But I also know that this is a "sharing" community, and I sincerely wish you would "share" your maxima with the rest of us.....because I am sincerely interested to see the things you've done to it. If your ride is as good as your talk, it is most certainly worth seeing.
...not trying to get into a pissing match here....just would like to see the goods.

I am not going to claim any numbers until i get the dyno to prove it, BUUUUT i will say that when i completed my setup last month it was done with the intention of putting down 370-400whp w/o nitrous. I'll save the nitrous for this fall

My friend with a 350z 6MT who has Mastered this car at 17 years old (Ran a 13.8 at 103 w/ 91 degrees temp) can not keep up with E55's car. After extensive conversations with Blackbirdvq for the past few months Ive gotten to learn much about him and his car. From what we have spoken about his car flies and for sure I believe him to be Faster then any 3.0L on these forums for this extensive modifications. As for the winner in this argument about whose car is faster I couldnt tell you because I've never been in Blackbirdvq's car. But I do have the perfect solution to you guys saying whose car is faster... A BYCICLE RACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
