So I finally have some money and I decided to buy a frankencar, CAI. Any thoughts on this.

Most members don't like threads about CAI opinions, especially vague ones.

For any info on your new car product check the FAQ's or search for older posts (got to be a million of them).

wasn't really looking for info, or opinion for that matter. And if this gets locked up, thats fine. I know that a frankencar isn't a CAI, it is a WAI. But it has to be better than stock and that is what I am after, and I didn't want to pay 300 bucks for a stillen CAI.

you won't notice any hp difference, only sound. just to let you know. the only reason i bought an intake was so that i could have something metal to screw my nitrous lines into

I like my FC intake...just call it an intake and avoid the "air" part...

good God people....why do you guys act like an intake is only for "sound?". An intake is just one component of the induction/exhaust system. By itself, it gives only minor (a few hp) gains....but when combined with exhaust modifications (ypipe/headers, catback, etc) and other engine work it is a must (unless you are FI)....

Intakes are not "noisy" like some ricer exhaust..... Yes, they increase the sound level of the engine somewhat.....but I'm a classic sportscar guy myself, so I frankly enjoy hearing my engine. Now exhaust - that I prefer to be as quiet as possible.....And intake is only noticeable under heavy load or WOT....at cruising it is no louder than stock...

I thought that some intales slow a car down with low end power and give it more top end power...i drove a max with 60,000 miles had an intake, B-pipe, and lowering kit and it DID NOT have the power of my stock maxima at low speeds...just didnt have the low end kick.....sounded sweet though!

actually my cattman is freakin loud......all i have also is a FC b pipe and i've set off car alarms in neighborhoods....and it's NOT the b pipe, the b pipe gets louder past 3.5k

once it shifts to second in low rpms and i give it some gas it roars.

Stillen doesn't make a CAI for our cars. Their intake is 120 new, I got mine for 60 on here. Eliminating the resonator part of the intake does some funky things with the powerband, the POP style (JWT/Stillen) keeps the stock looking curve but slightly amplifies it after 5k. Bottom line, should've saved the money or kept it to yourself.

I have place racing CAI and the low end is weak. I took it off after two weeks.
Stock feels stronger.

You are correct soonerfan, but NmexMAX knew what I meant. I should've said first "bolt-on." My bad...

Thanks for the reply NmexMAX. Headers are out of my budget range right at the moment. I do realize they are probably the best performing 3.5L bolt on out there other than N2O.

Any other suggestions,
Gears
