!---ABS light is ON---!

Yesterday, drove back home everything was fine, today in a morning on the way to work, when i just sat in a car, turned it on, ABS light came on...i know that my brake pads have to be changed, and i don't know if that could be related to ABS...anyone else know what could make it go off, any ideas, or where could i go to check it out? P.S. is it safe to drive with it or not?

My ABS light went on after I did an inspection. Otherwise the brake light goes on when your brake pads are low. Maybe its an electrical problem

I think it should be: when your brake fluid gets low, your brake light comes on.

What if someone topped off the fluid in the mean time ???

ABS codes can only be read by Nissan Consult II scan tool. Its probably some kinda internal module failure, if it was a SENSOR it would come on as soon as you started to move. Wheel speed sensors tend to quit working on some older cars, they make the ABS light come on as soon as you move, but will not illuminate the light when U are stopped- unless the wires are broken or unplugged.

the ABS light is your Anti-lock Break System light, when this light is on you dont have anti-lock breaks, it is safe to drive, but if you have to stop short, dont exspect thoes antilock breaks to kick in, there are many parts in the anti lock break system that can cause this light to come on, i had it on and a sensor went bad, it was replaced free under warranty at nissan.

I was talking about the RED brake light, not ABS light.
