I would love to know how the 5th gen Maxima would look in red. Anybody with Photoshop would care to paint the Maxima in Candy Apple Red. I think in SE form it would look great. What do you guys think??.

Red for a Maxima would probably burn my retinas!

I don't think it'd be a good color for the Maxima since it is essentially a 4-door sedan. For most folks, that doesn't exactly bring up a red head racey image. Hmmm....

At one time you could get a Maxima, Altima or Sentra in red. Now only the Sentra can be had in red. I wonder why Nissan summarily dropped red from its sedans.

Dave, very nice job! I'm assuming you did that with something like Photoshop. If so, how did you retain the glossy look and reflection?

I've tried playing around like that and just don't posess the skills to pull it off.

Cheers!

You should be able to do a colorband replacement...replace a range of RGB values with another equal range. I haven't played with PS for a while, but that's the way I used to do color changes when I was doing web design way back at the dawn of time.

Well... I kinda liked the red color You wouldn't see me buy one but I thought it looked cool. Of course seeing it in person would be a whole different thing. So who knows.

Actually, no...we discovered fire well before we started putting graphics in the web sites.

We invented the wheel one day when we figured out how to make the Mosaic browser work with graphics...we were in a big hurry to tell all our friends and the wheel just seemed like the fastest way to get there. It was, what I affectionately refer to as, "My First Maxima."

Yeow!! Looking at the Maxima in red makes me think:

A) Slap a set of fire department flashers on the top and some emblems on the side.

B) I'm waiting for 50 circus clowns to pour out of the car honking their noses.

Red is definately NOT the color for our beloved car.

As the driver of a RED mustang, RED is my favorite color. When I buy a Max it will be either the SE-L in Red or I will get it custom painted the same color as my mustang. I love red. The fact that RED maxes are rare makes it even better.

i think the red 4th gen is to tight.
A 5th Gen in red would set it off.
Every other manufacturer has a red sedan.
Someone should paint there super chipped Black max RED.

out of all the cars out there, i think Maxima is the only one that doesn't look good in red. i don't know what it is, but it just doesn't look right. maybe it's just the red paint nissan is using but the red looks really tacky. a burgandy color would look nice tho...

Uhhh... "no" as in the Max wouldn't look good in burgandy? If that's the case, I beg to differ. Take a look at srmtn's car (Merlot). It's awesome!

I LIKE IT!!
Red says "sport car"....I happen to think that it fits the Maxima's personality perfectly. Oh well...different strokes.

I would like to see the tail end of a max done in red. I wonder how the GXE/GLE's solid red tails would look then?
Anyway, if anyone happens to have the time and skills to hook me up, much thanks!

When I ordered my Max before it came out I asked for a red one b/c my 3rg gen was red and I wanted to trade my deep evergreen 4th gen in for a red one but the 5th gen in red is hot! Man that would be phat to def if it was red w/ red and black interior. Since I am keeping my max, can we say cosemetic make-over. When I get through you guys will nvmymax. Another color that would be tight is that IS 300 yellow. That is the color of my wifeys IS. It looks good with the gunmetal Lexus wheels!
