ppl with PR cai installed ... Question
i got a PR cai on my 03 ...
when i was installing it. the fuse box was getting in the way.. basically the white plastic cover on the bottom which protects the wires on the fuse box had to come off.
and of course cant screw in the fuse box back in the original holes.
anyone with the same issues?
what have you done about it?

Pr Cai
I have a '00 SE (5th Gen), I got both of my bolts back in. It was a tight squeeze, though. I still have a bit of a creaking sound when the intake piping rubs against the rubber grommet for the apron area.
My battery had to move to the passenger side a VERY little bit, but who cares if it's still in the holding tray thing. I fit both screws back in my fuse box but it was a very tight fit. I had to remove one of them recently tho, when I put in my grounding kit. I had some noise coming from near the hole you have to cut like some others are saying and I wrapped the hole and the bottom of the tubing that you can't see below the fuse box with xtreme dynamat I had left over and now there are no noises. I love my PR CAI...I haven't heard any other intake that makes a noise comparable to that great growl.
It's a tight fit but you should be able to put the two bolts back in. I have my two bolts in and the white plastic piece had to be removed. Also I recommend putting some padding between the wiring harness and the intake tube in case of
rubbing issues. Try playing around with the position of the tubing...that may help a bit.

yea i guess everyone is having the same issues. the white plastic came off. i couldnt even come close to the original holes for the fuse box. its holding on zip ties now. good idea about padding between wires and the intake pipe. and i do have slight creaking noise when i shift into gear.
maybe i'll take a pic and post it.
anyone with pics to see their intake and fitment?

I moved the battery a little, the fuse box is conected by one screw, then i inserted a rubber spacer between the fuse box and and the intake pipe for wear (as fornimage mentioned). As for the "creak"- i sprayed a littel wd-40 around the intake pipe and gasket meet and it went away.
Same here on my '02. White plastic bottom of fuse box had to come off. Not horribly happy with that fitment but I'll live. As far as the creaking goes; I think it has to do with the hole being too small which we all cut. The PR instructions calls for a 3 inch hole saw I believe. I think the correct size would have been 3 1/4. I think Cattman mentioned this in one of his posts in the PR CAI group deal a while back. I need to take mine out and open up the hole with a dremel so it stops creaking. As for Digger01 that sprayed WD-40 on the gasket. You might need to replace that gasket because the WD-40 is probably going to destroy the rubber. Look for some silicon lubricant instead.

^^ a 3.25" was used to install mine.... if you had any common sense you'd actually take the hole saw and place it over the tube to see how tight the fit is... i just deal with the creak, i don't even hear it anymore
