Ok, now I know what you guys are talking about. Yeah, I never had a ballast. Does anyone have a picture of what this might look like?

Here is where I had it mounted


I took it out because they haven't been working and both rings managed to break in half inside the housing, here's whats left.

I tried using a sandwich bag to protect them from water. Yo can see it in the 2nd pic wit electical tape around it. Not sure if it did the job or not , but all but one ring went out. The the two on the drivers side broke.

So there are 2 ballast's that come with this, if you can find something to effectively seal it up, you shouldn't have any problems?

Yeah it comes with two, one for each headlight or set of rings. If you seal everything from the start you should be good. Water proof everything with some kind of sealant. Unfortunately I wasn't aware of all the little tricks I could have done to make these last and make the install easier. I found out the hard way.

OK, well I guess I was using the wrong terminology. This is what I meant by light box. I have mine mounted to the back of the HID caps. No water issues there.....
