Hiss from berk intake.

Is it normal for there to be a hissing sound coming from aftermarket intake? I just installed my berk inake with k&n filter last week and I've noticed that when I do not press on the gas or go WOT, everything is fine, but when I am partial throttle, there is this slight hissing sound. Is this normal? I've checked all the connections and everything is very tight.

Same here, but I have noticed that as the K&N filter gets alittle dirty the hiss/whistle is less loud. Also, with time the slight low end loss in power is gone.

Anyone else notice this?

Just because you rode the short bus doesn't mean you have to ask for pity.

I was right in front of your car on my bike...any closer, and I'd be under it. I did beep.

This is kind of OT, but does the Maxima drone on the highway with an aftermarket intake? My old car did and it was really annoying to hear a constant whoooooooo sound,

No drone. Intake noise is relative to engine load vs throttle opening.

OK, let's say I'm going 75-80MPH and the engine is at approx. 3k RPM, any droning? Thanks for the insight

No, not as you are crusing along. You will hear it if you suddenly accelerate like when you are passing, but then all is quiet.

It's been a while since being on the boards. Brian's site used to be www.berktuning.com, but the link is dead. I need to order another Apexi filter. Any suggestions?

Depends if your engine is under load .. it will emit a slight gorwl depending on engine load, if :cruising: no drone ... you're thinking of exhaust drone
