Installing a SS Tip Need Advice

I'm having a new exhaust put on. The SS tip I bought is about 8" long and the exhaust goes into the tip about 4". I wanted to know how much of the tip should be showing? Thanks

nothing more than personal preferance, i would say not past the bumper. i hate it when i see them past the bumper.

anyone know any good bolt on ss tips. i don't want to have to buy magnaflows and have them welded on.
