I need to balance my sound...
Today I put a Flowmaster 60 muffler in to replace the stock one on my 2000 Maxima. First of all, I must say this has done wonders for my car! For some reason now, when I start the engine up when the engine is hot, it doesn't lag in getting the RPMs to start (stronger startup).
But now I've got a sound issue. I've got the deep tone in the back, but still the high pitched Nissan engine sound up front....if I were to put a WAI in the engine, (such as Berk), would the "racier" sound that the intake puts in the engine be that of a lower pitch, or a higher pitch like there currently is in the engine? Thanks!

I know it won't change the sound of my exhaust, but will it do anything as far as making the engine sound deeper?
EDIT: I don't want the engine to be obnoxiously loud...just slightly noticeable...what's the best intake for that?

it's FREE and it has the SAME effect as the other intakes, in terms of sound. I would do that first (since it costs nothing) and see if you like it. If not, then move on to thinking about a "name brand" intake.

Btw, if ya want the "engine to sound deeper" maybe get a y-pipe and to make it even deeper still, chop off your resonator....

On the maxima, an aftermarket y-pipe will provide the largest gains in power besides headers or supercharger/turbo. Our stock ypipes have very restrictive flow patterns and precats, while aftermarket ypipes are straight through designs.
I suggest you stop talking to this "guy" because he seems to give you alot of bad advice and he doesn't know what he's talking about.....
