This Thread Needs to be locked it is about 2 idiots that obviously cant drive and blame water on there accidents. I dotn care if it was dry if it the sign says"25" YOU DRIVE 45 not 80 or 70 Espically on stock suspension. If you continue to drive around turns at 80 where it says 25 you are clearly a moron and shouldint be driving but taking the bus.

sorry my 5 speed is dead even up to 90 with a 5.5 auto. Nissan lied to you guys about HP and TQ. On the highway I would lose for sure though. Yes it handles a lot better then the 5.5 SE. The 2002 feels like a boat compared to mine.

but when it gets to a point that someone is as thick headed as you, i think it can be tolerated...i mean seriously, how many people will it take to drill into your head that that turn should not be taken at those speeds?? seriously, you could get yourself, or worse, others killed by doing this...yet you still act like it's nothing and will continue to do it! i seriously am thinking about calling the st.louis PD and telling them where that corner is and am going to have them watch it! lol (well, maybe not) but still..have some sense!

No I understand. I used to be very reckless and do this stupid sh*t all over, but I have limited it to this small road late at night before I go home. Like when I used to run the max up to 140 (got a pic of that too), I don't do that anymore. I am like a recovering alcoholic that has a drink every so often.

Nope I have raced my dads. We switched drivers and got the same result. I have raced 2 others on the street that were for sure 3.5's and tied them.

65 around that curve is nothing. It was just that we hit a spot of water on a dry road.
45mph above the posted speed limit is not "a little".

You don't count because you don't think your car can keep up with cars that it can't....

Well some person had the sprinkler on this night and it had all flowed on to the road and when we went around the corner the back wheels got loose and spun us around and smashed into a fire hydrant.

How much do you guys think this is going to cost to fix? I know both doors, roof, front windshield, I guess it is part of the frame that comes up between the doors, and the floorboard in the back is pushed up inside. Is it enough to total it?

I would bet the estimate comes out to around 5500$ I can almost bet both left side wheels are bent along with the tires having busted belts. If they do total it Call me I'll might be interested in the car. I have most of the parts to fix it and I'm about 2.5 hours away.

5.5 gens around here don't run any faster then 15.0. 15.2 isn't uncommom for a 4th gen 5-speed. 2/10 of a second can be a drivers race. I know 5.5's have problems getting that power to the ground.

Thanks for the answer. I guess I will just have to see what it looks like when it gets all taken apart. I know a bunch of little parts can add up quick.

15.2? you serious? I really doubt that got proof? I ran a 15.7 @ 87mph but I was at 5500 ft when I did.....so at sea level I would run a 14.7ish stock....

I have raced 4th gen 5spd with intake y-pipe and exhaust, and I have beaten him from a stop flat out 2-3 car lenghts....o and this was when my car was stock....so plz...just stop, then you won't look like any more of a moron....

a modded 4th gen maxima can definitely be quick but a bone stock 4th genner as fast as a 5.5 gen is....no way. I ran a few modded 4th gens 5spd at the track and the quickest one ran 15.5 and the car had Y-pipe/catback/intake/ECU. And I beat him by a car in my bone stock auto. The others ones I destroyed and not worth mentioning.

i think you guys are going a little hard on the kid.

first off, the turn is a decreasing radius, its easy to come into at 45ish (guesstimate form the pic) and power out of it, exiting at a higher speed. theres clear view throught the fence to you can verify no traffic/obstacles ahead and when a turn like this gets taken regularly at those speeds, it becomes a bit routine. no big deal, really... but throw some water into the mix and it equals trouble. so his dad ****ed his car a little, and im sure theyre both upset about it... take it easy.

if someone came on the board and said 'i went downtown for xxx reason and got mugged', would you reply with 'youre a ****ing idiot for going downtown'?

however, i would like to add that the pic of 70 around the turn is stupid, for one... why are you trying to take a pic while taking a turn that apparently requires all your attention. do you see nascar drivers or F1 drivers taking pics with a digicam while racing?

second... that pic doesnt prove anything. we cant see the turn, just your speedo. its too easy to jack up the front wheels and add 1/8th turn to the wheel and hold it at 70.

let us know how much it costs...

First off it ain't your car. 2nd off why do you care? 3rdly Everyone here has done something just as stupid in your life at least once and a few of you I know do stupid things like this daily. I know I have. I hit the side of a MOuntain with my 220hp Del Sol because my wife pissed meoff. And to kick it alll off, we were 700 miles from home at my mother in law's. That made it double stupid. So I won't judge just support. Hope ypou get the car fixed. If you need some thing I got a few of the [arts you need. Good Luck.
