alright...number one, how were you the only one to help? i didnt see anywhere in that post you helping the idiot...and i know i speak for most of the people on maxima.org because MOST of them have some sense, but i have not done crap like this that not only endangers other peoples lives, but also deliberately and immensely disobeys a freaking speed limit sign that is 100 feet away from the turn....and i have a slight suspicion that it was him driving, just because the way he describes it...i'm sure his dad is *****ing at him for it, because not many adults would do something so stupid....

 

we had a guy in our local forum that ran his mouth like you. we kept trying to warn him and he wouldnt listen. well he rolled his car and spent a week in intensive care

Wow, maybe I just baby my car or maybe I just have sense, but I would NEVER feel comfortable doing that curve that fast. Setting aside the potential risk of injuring/killing someone or damaging the car (as is the case), you still have to worry about the police. I dunno about you, but insurance is a b!tch already...

Bottom line: nothing good could ever have come of it, and I'd feel like crap if that ever happened to my Max.

oh, by they way take a look at what I do with my car (autocross) and then take a look at all the suspension work I have, oh - and then realize that I would never take that turn in your pics at 65, 75, 85mph (nor could even my car hold that corner at those ridiculous speeds).....either you have a factory freak maxima suspension or you are FOS

 

If you don't know the limits of your car, you don't know how to drive. You should look into figuring that out before you kill someone (or your dad does). The car's ability doesn't make it your ability.

Wow, I go out for a couple of hours and you guys still flame throughout the night. Honestly it's saturday night and all you have to do it flame some kid on the internet?!

Maybe you guys don't know much about 4th generation maximas, but 15.2 is not uncommon at all. Many 4th gen 5-speed guys have gotten into 14's with just a y pipe. Some have even done high 14's stock.

Also I don't think you guys realize that the turn isn't that bad. Maybe its just I have done it so many times I could probably do it with my eyes closed.

Once again for those who haven't been reading, it is not my car and I wasn't driving. Yes we did hit water and I might even go take pics of the sprinklers there.

I might also go set my camera to video and record me going through the turn dooing 75-80 (I can go 85 if I use both lanes). No one seems to believe that turn could be taken that fast.

Edit: Sooner Fan I'm sure you could beat me with your 6-speed. I know those are fast but the autos are

sounds like he is trying to challenge us 5.5 auto maxes. Just to let you know too...our autos are not much slower than a 6 spd from the getgo (in your case 0-90mph)

You must not know alot about 5.5 gens....you do realize the diff stock v stock of an auto 5.5 gen and a 6spd 5.5 gen is about .2 to .4 off the 1/4 mile. So if you think 6spds are fast then the auto's are just as fast. Once again, you are a moron. If some like irish who has some hard core suspention done doesn't want to take that curve at 65, 75, 80 mph then you sure as hell shouldn't...

haha 6 speeds run mid to low 14's and autos are lucky to break into 14's. Don't feel bad, Nissan has always made automatics really slow compared to their manuals. Automatics are alright when your not concerend with performance at all. You have to love that delay from when you punch it until when it finally drops down a gear and you get to go.

I bet your one of those auto drivers that puts it into neutral at stop lights and rolls back like you have a manual?

Your hardly right. You find 2 cars and say that those are the perfect stock numbers? There have been many others that run low 14's with the 6 speed. As far as the auto I know more people have run 15.1-15.2 then 14.7

I found one time slip....Shogunsc4 car all running 14.7 to 14.9. so there are 2 cars in the 14's then my car that should run between a 14.7 and a 14.9 at sea level stock. I dont know one 5.5 gen to run a 15.0 sec 1/4 mile at sea level or close to sea level.

 

if you're gonna go that fast around a turn, keep it on the track...
