I might also go set my camera to video and record me going through the turn dooing 75-80 (I can go 85 if I use both lanes). No one seems to believe that turn could be taken that fast.
Edit: Sooner Fan I'm sure you could beat me with your 6-speed. I know those are fast but the autos are
Read some comparos between the 2002-2003 auto and manual.

i hope that you learn the diffirence before you kill yourself or someone else
ok i changed my mind....please keep it up and kill yourself. then we will have one less stupid driver on the roads
I agree that it is extremely dangerous doing such things and I would have never done it myself, but I just wanna argue a little bit about Maxima’s physical abilities:
Considering that stock Maxima can pull .85 gs, it can go through a single lane turn with suggested speed limit of 20 at about 40 - 45 mph. The author of the thread mentioned that it was a 4 lane road. By using both lanes, this speed can be brought up to 55 – 60 mph. And now, (considering that it’s a right-hand turn) imagine if someone were to start turning into that corner on the very left side of the opposite side of the road, moved to the right side at an apex and went back to the left side an exit point. That would probably make it like 70 -80 mph corner.
edited: all mpg changed to mph lol

main factor - posted speed limit is 25 mph!! (they dont do that just to prevent people from having fun)
- not the best driver
- "water" in the road

If you do decide to try that one, you'll have to come back and let us know what a pureed cheeseburger tastes like.

You're doing a lot of talking and not much in the ways of listening. Learn the limits of your car and since you seem to think you're a better driver than your dad, maybe you should teach him how to drive as well.

I'm surprised this thread is still open. At the rate him and his dad are going, they may easily win one of those Darwin awards for 2005.

Well I'm just glad none of you ever speed or take a corner faster then the recomended speed limit. Speeding is bad! Don't do it. If your so afraid of taking risks you guys must not ever go outside.
Hopefully they will total it and my dad can get a 350Z.
So let me get this straight:
1. Your dad was driving and wrecked the car.
2. Then "he couldn't get it to start again and didn't think about it being gear. So he got out and i got in the drivers seat and got into park then started it."
So, your "dad" just wrecked his car, and when it won't start he says "hey son, I just wrecked my car...how about you try to turn the ignition key since I'm obviously too stupid to start a car." Then you drive away? or do you switch again after you get it started?
3. Then you leave the scene of the accident where public property might have been damaged (no chips on the fire hydrant doesn't mean you didn't damage it).
4. Then you go get in your car and drive the turn just so we can all see it. Funny, I don't see any skid marks in either of those pics, and none in the direction of the fire hydrant.
right....

also:
I still want to know how you hit a fire hydrant on the INSIDE of the turn. You were going around the turn, hit the water, spun out, and suddenly the car's momentum (which SHOULD have been going toward the median) magically pulls the car toward the fire hydrant at the INSIDE curb? You sure you didn't hit that tree in the median?
no **** sherlock? maybe that's why you don't haul *** through semi-residential areas.....water on the road, deer runs across, little kid, oncoming traffic. The sign of a good driver is that he/she can correct for anything that comes up (i.e. puddle of water). You or your dad or your grampa or the little green alien or whoever was driving the car obviously is not a good driver.....
isn't it funny how when someone embellishes a story, it's always pretty obvious because half the story doesn't make sense?

65 around that curve is nothing. It was just that we hit a spot of water on a dry road

No there are no skid marks on that type of pavement. It is a real rough sticky gravel they put on a few years ago (no gravel or loose parts now) so your car will hold better.
We would have been fine if the fire hydrent wasn't there.
I guess you have never been in an accident before? I haven't but I'm also young. I want to hear about your accidents.

Then I got in to see if it would start and I got it started then my dad got in the passengers side and we drove home (1/2 mile).

That's like saying "oh that little girl would still be alive today if she wasn't out side in her front yard when I was being a stupid ****." Yep that about sums it up.
Why don't you do me a favor.... go kill your self the world will be a much better place without you, and take your dad along with you.

Hopefully, the insurance company sees this thread and jacks your insurance rates to sky-high levels so maybe you'll learn a lesson.

Looks like the effing highway you twit.
So now you're saying you took a 25 or 35 mph curve at night when it was dark, the road was wet and your moron of a father was driving at speeds of excess of 65 mph? You both really are idiots.

1. got rear-ended by a high school kid a few years back in his (ironically) 3rd gen maxima. Smashed the whole back end of my Triumph GT6 in....I was sitting at a stoplight....he forgot to stop. His fault.
2. in my 1992 accord coupe...tapped a guy in bumper-to-bumper traffic. didn't put a scratch on his car or mine (hit him at about 2 mph). But, my airbag did go off for some reason. My license plate in the front wasn't even bent
My fault totally, I just rolled forward into him sitting in traffic....still had sleepy-eyes.3. my maxima rear-ended by a 300ZX TT in a highway slowdown area where traffic was goign really slow. I have an imprint from the bolts holding his front license plate in my rear bumper to this day. His fault.
4. was run off the road by a truck driver who wasn't paying attention and made a quick lane change while I was next to him. Luckily, this was in italy and my Lancia Delta was an AWD rallycar anyhow (think predecessor to the Evo and STi), so going offroad into a highway median didn't hurt anything.
His fault.
so, as you can see....outside of a 2mph tap, I've never been "at fault" for any accident. I also lived in Italy for 3 years, where people really have no regard for traffic laws at all, and didn't manage to get in any "real contact" accidents.
oh, by the way....I've been up to 290 km/h in a Ferrari 348 on the italian Autostrade, which translates to rougly 175 mph....gotta love it when a classmate at school has a daddy who's in the mafioso.
