I've got a couple of questions for those of you who have installed a UDP in a 5th Gen 5-speed. First, did your engine braking improve? Second, did installing the UDP help to reduce the "hung throttle" effect between shifts?

Engine braking sucked before and it still sucks now. I need to step on the brakes like "a mile" before I come close to the car in front of me on the freeway. 5th gens can't compare to 4th gens in engine braking.

You've got an A/T Kev. I'm mostly interested in finding out if the UDP has any effect on the hung throttle condition. For all I know, reducing the weight on the crankshaft might actually make the condition worse.

Kev, if your tranny is in 4th gear, you will not get any engine brakig at all. Once it has shifted into 4th, it takes a while for it to downshift.....no engine braking as a consequence
