Need Help on TCM Reset

I followed the procedures from the sticky and for some reason it would not reset. I performed the procedures 5 times and cannot get the AT light to flash. I have done ECU reset and idle learn many times and worked but the TCM is giving me a hard time. Also, is the TCM similar to the ECU in which it will re-learn and re-adjust over times?

if you are trying to get the tcm to learn to shift at redline then it will not work. there may be certain parameters that it will have to relearn after the reset but its defaulted to shift a certain rpm. the only way to change is have a program/software and some hardware interface and reprogram it.

actually I'm trying to get rid of that weird "rev bounce" when braking. I just found out that it is the tranny doing it. When the car is in 1st or 2nd...it acts normal but if it is in 3rd or D...it bounces around when slowing to a stop @ ~1k rpm. The tech told me that it is normal (he even showed me but mine is more pronounce). He mentioned that it was the tranny dropping from 3rd to 2nd and 1st gear causing it the rev up a bit. I was wondering if the TCM reset would help. One very important question...on the reset procedure...when it states "OFF", does it mean position 1 or 2 on the ignition? We have 0=lock, 1, 2=ACC, 3=ignition ON, 4=start. Does ignition OFF mean 1 or 2? because position 1 doesnt click in like 2 and 3 would.

won't do a thing...the car's are designed to downshift themselves to shorten braking distance

thats what I thought too but the rpm surges up ~200rpm making the car to lurge up a bit instead of shortening the distance
