2001 and 4th gen engines are so similar i figure many parts may be backwards compatible. I couldnt find this in the stickies, i didnt even know where to look. Does anyone know if the 97 A/C compressor will work on an 01 maxima? Are they the same? Could save me a lot of money if they are

I have looked at them and concluded that visually they are the same.

However car-part.com does not list them as an interchange.

I am wanting to go the other way - put a 2000 compressor on a 98. I don't know if it will work, and have yet to try. So I guess I wasn't much help.

 

final way to check i guess is compare part numbers with nissan or autozone, i'll get to the bottom of this.
