You can also drill into the OEM filter holder. The more holes the better the sound

ive got the injen and i didnt notice any loss in lower. could be because im auto, but i dont know. about the GAB, what happens when you go to smog and the tech notices you 5 fat holes in the airbox??? epecially since youre in CA, they wont pass you with that. Go for the injen, you wont have to change it to smog like you do with a short ram.

The coat hanger GAB is reversible to stock in all of 30 secs by removing the coat hanger. You must be thinking of the PAB.

You're saying that in California, you will fail smog with a short ram but pass with an Injen? Care to explain why?

Visual inspection...In California, we have a bunch of hippies who decided that every car needs to be super original and has to pass a like 5000000 step inspection. my friend had a smog EXEMPTION because of an engine swap and they failed him, DMV wouldnt even let him register the vehicle.
In CA, smog laws > everyone.

buy airhog. Never saw the point in those performance intakes. 2 hp aint gonna give you no advantage. If you like the add noise/growl then go for it.......

According to my "source", I think what you meant to say is that intakes with a CARB # like the Injen and Stillen will pass smog, but those without one will not, so it doesn't matter if its short ram or CAI, they just need to have the CARB approval thing.

Air Hog = another quality product by FRAM. A poor attempt to replicate K&N panel filter...

the problem is that CA doesnt give a CARB cert to short rams.

Is this a fact that is spelled out in some regulations somewhere or opinion/experience?
