How are the new Cattman Headers?
I have mine sitting in my lounge room waiting to install them. I wanted to get feedback from anyone else who has a set of Brian's new headers. How do you like them? Has anyone had a chance to hit the dyno with them yet?
Im waiting for a exhaust manifold flange gasket from the stealership, then mine go on

I have the cattman catback going on at the same time as I put the headers on.
Figured I would get it all done in 1 go.
I just hope it doesnt annoy the girlfriend too much.
Steve, I know you have a straight pipe. Will the be a large difference in sound between your system and mine if I keep the cat?

Sweet! Glad to hear you went with the Cattman exhaust...you won't be disappointed in how unique it sounds...But the GF might get annoyed if u ask me....my setup is pretty damn loud for daily....it took me awhile to get use to it...and my Bose definitely has to be cranked up in order for me to hear it over my exhaust...haha
About the str8 pipe....I really don't know if there will be a large difference....Since I always had the str8 pipe on since the headers went on....but I say if there is a difference..it will be minimal....I got mine from Budget for $30 shipped...its like $35 shipped if you don't convert to american dollars

Maybe someone in your area with the same setup but stock cat could meet you to compare, with someone else with just a y-pipe and catback exhaust. So you could comeback and report here.
That is what I am hoping. Im keeping my Cat: 1. For emissions purposes and 2. hopefully it wont be AS loud.
Side question - What type of intakes are you guys running with your setups? I just purchased a Berk Apex-I Intake to replace my Injen. I miss my low end, and want it back!

i just put in my test pipe and i have a y pipe and stock catback. honestly, it sounds close to 350z/G35c. the difference in the test pipe was substantial enough to notice the car is not stock. vq35 will sound slightly different, no?

I have the berk apex setup...i love it...dunno if I feel much of a low end lose....feels the same if u ask me....and it was a great idea for u to swap to a berk intake...injen intakes are located in a very hot area (near radiator)...

Post a soundclip and evaluation atfter u install them all.
I like the sound of the Cattman catlytic converter to catt-back exhaust. PM Puppetmaster for a sound clip.
U can use this;

to reduce your noise lvl

I plan on it. Should be going to the dyno next week. Before headers get put on. Doing one last track visit too.

I had my baseline track run this past weekend. Baseline dyno will come soon. Then I will install them, then re-dyno, and see what I pick up in the 1/8th mile!

The straight pipe will make a noticable sound difference. That is the reason I did not get one, and I feared I would get exhaust "popping" (HS Headers, HF Catt, Cattman Catt-back). I went with the Custom Maxima High-Flow Catt and that even had a noticable increased in sound, I can only imagine what the straight pipe would have done.
I am not sure if I remember correctly, but I think that 5.5gens with headers had problems with the stock main catt melting down on them...
My stock catt was fine on my 2000, I just wanted to change it and I was having sealing problems.
