2001 AE Max, auto with Y-pipe, OSCAI, and NOS ( 50-75 shot )?
Just curious... I don't want to pick up the S/C till it is smog legal, and Stillen can not tell me when that will be, only that it is "pending".
I am feeling all the Stillen flames now ... they deserve it sometimes! But the needs of the many out-weigh the needs of the few, right?

Here are my estimates (assuming a decent launch and outside temperature)

50-shot ---> 14.68 @ 93.5
75-shot ---> 14.29 @ 96.0

These of course depend on when you are squeezing.

Oops... I left out

Underdrive pulley... will that make a big difference?
So guessing by these estimates, to run a mid 13's, I would need S/C with intercooler and NOS plus the previously mentioned. I would be satified if I could hit mid 13's . I'm guessing I would need a Level 10 tranny and torque converter too?

Even then, this is wishful thinking. Mid 13's in a FWD Auto??? Dude, if this is what you must have, I hate to say this, but sell your automatic Max and buy something else!

Wow....

Thanks for all the input guys...
Man, is it really that tough to get a Max to run mid 13's?
Oh well. I still love the car
What are the guys with the S/C running?
How about a high 13? Can that be accomplished? What mods would I need?

Why don't you check the parts list sticky thread? I mentioned this to you in another thread.

SFMax20SE: Check Steve's sig to see what he has done.

try a 5 speed

at some point you have to wonder whether you bought the right car. if you're willing to do all that **** to your car for the sake of a little more speed, but you went ahead and got it with an automatic transmission anyway... i just don't think i will ever understand.

Try living in San Francisco, CA where there are tons of hills and stop and go traffice everywhere.... you will understand very quickly
Speed was not my main concern when I bought the Max ( coulda gotten a M5 or GS400, but the wife wanted a house first ), but if I can get it to do what I want... hell, why not. Anyway, what would be more surprising... a M5 that can do mid 13 second quarter miles, or a Maxima?

How 'bout a '96 Impala SS with a stroker 383, supercharger, and a 75 shot of nitrous? What about a Grand National with a 4.3L Stage II motor? How about a Mustang SS4 (Police Package LX 5.0) with a bored and stroked 351, blower, and nitrous? What about a WS-6, bored and stroked, Hurst Competition Shifter, Paxton blower, 75 Shot of Nitrous? What about a Typhoon with a bigger turbo, HKS wastegate, Nitrous, bored and stroked 4.3?

If you make 13s with any of those, you are running too damn slow.

But in all seriousness, SteveChicago SC has had his Max dip into the 13s but he has done A LOT of work ( and paid a lot of $$$) to get it running that fast.

Couldn't agree with you more on the comment about "wolf in sheep's clothig!! You should see some of the looks (and middle fingers) I've gotten from people when I beat them with my 4 door "Family" car that has my son's car seat in the back. BMW M5 about $73,000, the look on people's face when their 2 door sports car is smoked by my sleeper max- PRICELESS!! Don Cooper's 4th Gen AUTO maxima runs NOS and his best 1/4 mile time was 12.8 sec (DAMN FAST!) and he consistently runs in the low 13's. So to all you "Ney sayers" it IS possible. I figure I'm probably running high 13's or low 14's (based on my most recent win against a 1999 or 2000 Mustang GT) with my setup but I haven't had her to the track yet!

Agreed DMan_2KMax, thanks for the support! Man, for a minute there, these guys had me thinking I was crazy.
I am trying to leave my Max looking as stock as possible.
So when are you gonna take your beauty to the track? Love to see what it will run.
I really don't mind putting time and/or money into the ride... no one said it would be cheap! Especially if you fell the need... the need for speed!!!

I've had a few people ask me, "Why the heck have you spent so much $$ modifying your maxima?" Well here is what I tell them:

1st - I don't have to pay the ridiculous "Sports Car"
insurance premiums!!
2nd - I've got plenty of room for my kids and friends
and my car rivals most sports cars both in interior
room and performance.
3rd - It's unique and us car guys LOVE unique!
4th - There is no way I could get that "Dumbfounded Look"
from drivers I beat if I were in a car they would
expect to be fast. (i.e. corvette)
5th - And finally life is too short not to live a little
and have fun. Yeah yeah even if it is adolescent
fun for a 33 year old teenager at heart.

Have fun and go for it!!

DMan_2KMax, agreed on all points!!! U da Man!!!
That look is, as you say, PRICELESS!!! I remember that look on the guys faces when I use to have my 81' RX-7. It was doing 12.7 quarter miles... the Mustang, Vette, and Grand National guys could not believe it.... dumbfounded , then
and I was
