Brake Light On

OK, so recently the brake light on the dash stopped turning off even when the hand brake is down. Most of the threads regarding this issue involve the brake and battery lights not turning off indicating imminant alternator failure, but mine is just the brake light. What should I check to diagnose why it won't turn off?

Holy crap, I'm oblivious. With all the problems my car's been having lately, I forgot to check the obvious.

It is your brake fluid. I had the same problem, I checked my manual and sure enough that is what it is.
