how to remove seat?

Hey Guys,

I need some help, Im trying to remove the driver seat. I removed the two 14mm bolts on the front of the seat. And on the back of the seat, i removed two bolts from the side closer to the console. But how do I get to the bolt near the door in the back.

Is there another way to do this? I need to replace one of the motors under the seat and need to remove it. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Jay

As far as I know, one of the bolts is covered with a peice of plastic. The others are visable and the seat should come right off. Thats how I did it in my 2000 max.

I used a long wrench with an adapter to make it easy. Its the tools that make the job so much easier.

There are a total of 5 bolts. On the rear bolt, just pull the plastic cover hard as a *****, and then remove the bolt.

THEN comes the HARDEST BOLT EVAR to remove (IMHO). There is a 5th bolt on the side by the door. You will need an extension to take it out. Be prepared for a fight, it's probably the hardest thing I have had to take out of the max, and this is coming from a guy that has stripped his interior in its entirety.

For the bolt on the rear door side, how do i get the cover off of it. It looks like there is a screw holding the plastic cover on. And when i put the seat all the way up there is still no way to get a screw driver in there to take the screw off.

Any help on that??

Fully advance the carseat forward. Pull up and out...HARD. That's about as good an explanation I can give. It's on there very tight.

From the outside of the door, use a ratchet with an extenstion to remove the bolt. You are going to be pushing against the side plastic of the seat the entire time, and it will be fighting you. I am not going to sugarcoat it - it's damn near fawking impossible to remove.

I don't know if there is an easier way to do this, so if someone knows of it, please chime in.
