My brother has a 2000 Max GLE. He would like to change his GLE cluster to the SE white cluster. Can he do it? is there any problem with wires or connectors? Please help.

 

I guess you better SWAB the connectors to make sure theyre clean


but after that it should work.

 

if the SE cluster was 00-01 then it will work, nothing to change but the ses (if I right) will light up, the rest are good, just remove the bulb and you are done.

 

mileage will need to be redone on the new cluster.

I told him to upgrade to "reverse glow gauges" on ebay, but he said that he wants "sport looks" like SE.

 

yes it can be done, I did it myself.but ther are differant ways to go.1 you can swap the whole cluster, just make shure the options are correct ie. auto/stick,traction control,abs and only 2000 & 2001 gauges will work, i got mine at a junk yard 90.00 the odomider needs to be reset to you real mileage, big no no if you dont.2)just get gauge cluster cover & pull the needles. a lot cheaper , but more work
