I have been searching around trying to find out how to add amps to the bose and if its possible to get some rca's out of the stock headunit but I haven't had any luck finding such information.

So I would really appreciate any info about this harness as well. Thanks.

with this kit can you add subs to your existing Bose unit? I just got my max and already have subs from my old car.

yes you can, the kit gives you rca outputs so you can add two additional amps if you wanted to. i have this kit with an alpine type r and a fosgate amp, sounds pretty damn good for only spending about 350 bucks total, very happy with this

heres the link

I also found out that you can go to like a radio shack or best buy and buy a "high-low" converter and that would work. do any of you know about that? and for a price of only $20. does that work too??? what would the difference be other than the price????

I have always been wary of hi/low converters since you are taking the amplified output from the headunit and then reamplifying it again at the amp connected to your speakers/sub. It generally adds a ton of noise and distortion to the signal, but it gets the job done. However, you can also purchase an amplifier with high-level inputs as well, negating the need to buy an external high/low converter, but the overall effect is generally the same.

The Pac OEM rca output thingy I have no experience with whatsoever, but I am very curious to know about the sound quality and how anyones personal experience with the unit is. I really want to keep the stock headunit but add some additional boom to my car, and this looks like just the thing if it produces some quality low level outputs.

the pac aoem nis2 works very well and sounds great. my brother and i have the same subs (type-r's) and he has a full apline system, whereas i just have the stock bose and the sub, as far as bass goes, i cant tell the difference.

the aoem nis2 is the way to go, a normal converter will get u a lot of alternator whine, which is bad, the way the bose is set up the aoem nis2 is the only way to go, been very happy with mine, ive had it for more than 2 years.
