Brake Upgrade, feedback after 1000+ miles
I purchased one piece rotors from AP racing (drilled and slotted) along with hawk brake pads. I'm not modded so i cant test them as hard as others but from the 100-40 stops i did on the highway and the many 40 to 0 stops i did on local streets, i can say these brakes are holding up very well. They are quiet, the rotors are made of great quality. I am very pleased with this setup.
Before purchasing, i was trying to find a brake setup that wasnt too complicated and that wouldnt warp. My first option was a 6th gen upgrade but not only did that involve more money but also complicated things a bit further.
New brakes, new rotors, new calipers and spacers was not in my budget.
The owner of the shop had a lot of confidence in his product, letting me and a friend on the org (liqidvenom) test out a 2 piece set on his 350z. We have videos showing the excitement of RWD combined with power and serious braking.
Pics are coming soon. I didnt want to even post anything until i got a good idea of how these rotors/pads are because i hate when someone recommends a bad product. I am so happy with this setup, the simplest and cheapest alternative to non warping stock rotors.
If anyone is interested, they have rotors for all generations for maxima's along with many other cars. In fact, we are trying to get a big brake kit going...more info on that later.
Pics coming soon, just happy with my setup. No squeeks, no grinds, no warping, just pure clean quality friction.

Good to hear you like your new set up.
I just ordered a new brake set today... I went with a full set of gold plated slotted rotors and stainless lines from the RTP GD and a full set of hawk pads from redlinemax GD.
The gold plating and slotting are for looks
the hawk pads and stainless lines are for function
I cannot wait to install the stuff now.

the pad surface will be gone in no time... however the rest will stay rust free and goldish for some time...

? on the pads. i have a few locals with the hawk pads, and they say they are great to get, but over time there seems to be some noise with these pads. has anyone here experienced this overtime? it's time for me to get new pads and i want to make an educated decision as to what would be right for me. i need something quiet and will bite pretty good. not worried about brake dust or anything like that, just noise and functionality.

If that's the case, you can't go wrong with OEM. They may be dusty as hell but they are quiet and work well.

I just spent quite a bit of time looking at pads and I decided on Hawk HPS, they seemed like the best for what I was lloking for, and for $110 shipped for front and rear pads, I cannot complain about the price.

hmmm, well as of now i'm not getting any noise but its only 1k miles...my main concern was getting the right rotors. Not only harder to change but more expensive. I'll update once the squeeks creep in.

Hawks here too. Noisy? Yes. After very hard breaking at low speeds the pad begins to generate a rubbing noise when you slowly slow down at a weak speed (doesn't come on until at least 5-10MPH).
Regardless, they bite hard as hell on the rotor. I've experienced two severely tense stops on the highway this week on back to back days, both from 70MPH to 10MPH. I was shocked at how well the pads performed their job. Great pads. You sacrifice the luxury of a quiet pad, but you gain something FAR more important.

Help with Torque Setting for Calipers
I am about to replace my rotors and pads and I don't know what the torque setting are for the caliper bolts and for my wheel lug nuts. I would appreciate some help with this information. Thanks in advance.

Simple, get an FSM, Haynes, or Chiltons manual and look it up. It never ceases to amaze me that people will do major maintanance to there vehicles, work that, if done wrong, could kill them and others, and they won't even go buy the damn manual.

are you guys running hawk HPS or HP+ ?
the HPS are usually pretty quiet, but if you get them glazed over from a panic stop on cold brakes, they will squeak pretty bad after that.. just like Axxis.
Hawk HP+ will squeal like hell when they're cold. they're a track-only pad..
As for the OEM pads, STAY AWAY!!! from what everything I've seen shows, the OEM pads are one of the major causes of warping on the stock brakes on these cars.
they're smooth and quiet, but they also warp rotors like mad.
