Bose HU Aux in?
Bose HU Aux in?
A question for those who know's-about-Bose. I have a Sirius Starmate that has an "audio out" plug. Does anyone here know if there is an audio in jack on the back of the Bose HU? I have heard there are auxilliary amp connections, so I thought there might be an audio in port so I can bypass the FM modulation when listening to Sirius.
Thanks for your input.

the in dash 6 disc does not have this plug. only the 2000/01 with changer in the trunk. we are kinda stuck to using an fm modulator. the quality of songs transmitted through xm is not that great, so i dont think it will suffer any more by using the fm modulator.
There is an adapter for those HU most likely, just got to call some audio shops to do some research. Its problaby gonna cost around 200 bucks with instalations to do that kind of work. I know this because this shop quote me for 240 to do the IPOD connection straight to the HU.
i could be wrong, but on my bose i have a AUX input on mine. but the AUX on mine only comes on if there is a Audio Cd in my Nav slot, i cannot manually select it to my knowledge. so i dunno, maybe its possible to use it somehow.

Use that and call it a day. Goes through the CD, tricks HU into thinking a changer was installed.

That all sounds either too evasive and or too expensive, but thanks to all anyway, for their input. Last night I found that a combination of the location of the unit in regards to the Bose HU, and the FM channell you choose to tune in, can clear things up quite alot. Sirius seems to transmit with more base than FM radio stations. Sounds quite good now. Now all I have to do is play with antenna location to minimize momentary signal losses.
Anyone find a better location than others?
