2000 SE - Tires center wearing

Well, I am at the end (very end) of my third set of rubber. (2 summers (OEM RE92 "donuts-o-death" Michelin Pilot Sport A/S) , 1 winter (Bridgestone Blizzak WS-50)) Each of them lasted 3 years (7 months "summer", 5 months "winter")

Each and every one of them have center worn. I have tried high pressure, low pressure, Nissan recommended pressure, tire recommended pressure.

I drive kinda hard, equally in the corners as in start/stops. drive kinda fast, certainly faster than most.

Could this be more of a temperature (hot-pressure) issue rather than a cold-pressure issue. On summers, running 30-31psi cold I run 35-36psi hot. Generally, hot, fronts are 1-2psi higher than rears.

Any comments?

From: Auburn WA,
what size tires on what width rims? wide tires on narrow rims could cause this problem

I second the over inflation.

Suspension set-up?

A few details on your suspension set-up like lowering springs, increased rim size and after-market struts (adjustable, what setting?)? Conventional wisdom is that wearing out of the center = over-inflation.

Have you ever checked the toe alignment? That combined with overinflating might be the culprit.

30-31 psi cold is not over-inflation!

Try 28 cold and see if the problem is mitigated. I know you said you've tried inflation though.

I'm not a suspension guru, but there are a lot of people on this board who are, and they can probably give you much more detail about alignment issues that may cause excessive center tread wear.
