Not that it's big deal or anything but I saw a 1st gen Max today for the 1st time... I was stuck in traffic with Clee130 wating for the light to change and there it was, waiting in front of me!!! It said Datsun Maxima instead of Nissan. WoW!! How old can this car be? It's practically amazing how the Nissan Maxima evolved into this very form we all drive today!!!
I was amazed with the fact that it was still rollin...

I've seen a couple of Maxima station wagons rolling around NYC. Nos those babies! Ultra-sleepers!

Not many people remember a "Datsun", such as myself. Shows your age... If it wasn't for the Datsun 280Z....

Note: I drove a '76 Datsun truck.

Datsun...What a humble beginning for Nissan. I remember those (and yes, I agree, it show's your age)....I would look at a Datsun as a Metro equivilant these days.

I've seen quite a few of them...

..once I knew exactly what they looked like.
The 1st gen Max is sometimes hard to pick out because it reminds me of a million other old cars, like Cressida's, old Camry's, etc.. All the "Box" shaped cars looked a-like to me, you can tell but not from a far distance, because those late 70s, early 80s cars lacked distinctive styling.
My uncle had an 87, drove it like he stole it, no problems, until someone..well.. stole it.
