Major Tire problem

Major Tire problem

havent posted in a while, but now im in a major pickle, last week, i got a flat, nail in front right tire, running stock sized michilen pilot sports, didnt know i had a flat, ran it for about a mile, couldnt feel it, freakin lo pros, anyway, ruined the tire, anyway the new one came in today, and i went to take the donut off the car, and two of the five lugs have seized to the studs, and it is way hot, stripped one of the studs clean off, the car is still under warranty for another 40000 miles, and im wondering if this is a nissan problem and if i should make the dealer cough it up to fix my car, since i cant think of anything i did wrong... anyway, any replies/ advice is apprieciated. thanks in advance.

this may sound stupid but are the lugs on the right way..... if they are Nissan should take care of it. You will know if the lugs are flat on the outside not pointed....

Sounds like someone overtightened the donut when installing it. I don't see how it could be a problem with the donut or the actual studs.

i put the donut on myself, and only tightend them down with the weak little wrench that comes with the jack, I wrench on cars all the time, and i know i did not overtighten the lugs...

yep, lug studs dont just break by themselves, esp when you just had them off to change the spare.

BTW, WTF is f-town? thats not farmington, is it?

easiest thing to do. Go to autozone/checker's where ever and buy new studs 5x114 I believe. They have a book there that'll tell you exactly what you need. New studs are like $2 a piece. Buy new lug nuts with those studs and do it yourself. Knock what's left of the old stud out with a hammer and a punch, put the new one on from the rear and thread the lugnut on. As the lugnut tightens(with the wrench)it draws the stud in and sets it. Loosen lugnut and there you go, Saved 50-60 bucks and did in 1/4 of the time. Simple.

im from new mexico, and ive never heard of anyone calling farmington, f-town

you have to have a big city to get a name like that...

This has happend to me before. I go to change my brakes without letting the anything cool off and when i put the wheel back on i tighten it with an impact gun or by hand (bad idea) then next time i find on or two have stripped.

F-Town yeah, farmington new mexico, haha, its a joke. anyway, as for the studs, i am gonna replace them myself, i have the day off tomarrow and all the tools anyway. no biggie, i was just freakin out, bad f-ing day, and that as the topper, anyway, thanks alot guys

could it be that when u torqued them on they went on misalligned? this has happened to me in the past and the total price for the studs and lugs was less than 20 bux.
