I NEED HEADLIGHTS (HID, HALOS, OR WHAT?) for my 00
#41
The best advice is to get HID kit for your 00 or 01 headlights and fogs. Remember to get a new headlight so your car could look better. Then get eyelids for the headlights (believe me this helps reduce glare after you have lowered your headlight beams. I had this set up in my 00 maxima but I never got a chance to take pics before my car was totaled last week.
The only thing I didnt have was high beams and believe me I never needed them for the whole time I was driving.
Not to change the topic I think 5th gen maximas have a better reflector light output than 5.5 gen maximas.
Whose with me????????
Jokes apart. I think I got the solution to your problem. Click on this link to check it out.

Can you believe that Ive been going through ebay and I think Ive never came across this before. Notice that these headlamps are NOT preojectors, they are reflectors. So this means that 9005 or 9006 HID kit will fit it. The only mod you will have to use (which I believe you have already) is the rubber cover for your halogen bulb in your 2000 / 2001 headlamp. (this will replace the plastic cover that shortens the space for HID bulb.)
This will only cost you about $500 with alll the necessary materials needed.
Now, Let me warn you, this is and project Ive not done before.
I will surely do this when I get another 5th gen maxima.

Wtf...I've never seen those aftermarket reflectors before. Someone needs to buy a set and hook it up. They look A LOT better than the projectors. They have a very BMW look to them. Looks like they have a sloping design like this -- \Oo=oO/
Where as the projectors looked more like \oO=Oo/.
Hmmm...
