too many hids. 02/03guys hid brights?

il be finally upgrading to the 02/03hids within the next few months, i have 8000K BIXENON heads and 8000k hid fogs now, just not too happy with them.

i plan on replacing the d2rs with 6000ks and replacing my fogs with 6000ks to match.

has anyone put hids in the brights? of the 02/03s theyre 9005s as far as i know of. i know it would be overkill, but ill have two sets of hids left over, gotta do soemthign with them.

don't put HIDs in your hi-beams, you'll kill them in no time flat. plus that slight charge up time on HIDs will render them useless for hi-beams. stick with the stock and upgrade the low-beam to 6000k. that's what i have and i love it.

You will definitely like the 6000k HIDs. Just leave the brights OEM.

6000k D2R bulbs and 6000k H3 HID fog kit.

Yes, just a standard Prolumen kit will do the trick.

8000K as you have probably been told, is a very low output high color solution.

Doing what you plan will improve light output, without losing too much color.

If you decide to put HIDs in your brights, as others have mentioned, your flash to pass feature is pretty useless, unless you have a way to power your HID all the time as low voltage (never been done to my knowledge).

Anyways, hope that helps.

I've had 6000K HID foglights for quite some time now. I love them. I just ordered 6000K D2Rs to replace the stockers.

i live in the middle of nowhere, so i like ot be as bright as possible, lots of wildlife. i usually have my highs on for a few minutes, not just top flash, i never flash. i think id need to run the power off the batt, cause it would overload the harness. or just wire them up on a seperate switch.

No, your regular harness will be fine.

You would need a hi/lo kit for your car. We can offer you that as well.

why would i need a high/low kit.if i use 02 housing and get the harness i need, the d2r is the low the 9005 the high. i have a highlow kit already, but would rather sell it and use my non highlow kit as my highs

otherwise ill make my own, converting a 9004 to a d2r and 9005 isnt that hard to do, ive done custom harnesses b4.

12000K does not look very good.

You don't need to convert anything.

No, the color doesn't look good either. It's a ridiculous purple/pink and it's bad glar.

4300= yellow
5000K = more white
6000K = more bluish.

Sure thing - $165 if you want, we'll wait to ship the ring.

Hey Matt,

Just wondering why you dont recoment wining directly to that battery.

I put an HID kit on my old SAAB using the harnesses and totally screwed my headlamps within 6 months. When installing HIDs on my Infiniti I wired to the batt. It's been over two years and they are still running strong.

We have built in circuitry that prevents reverse flow of current. So, there are no issues.

Its not worth it. In the amount of time you actually use the brights, the HIDs wouldnt have enough time to warm up. I did this years ago, and ended up taking the kit off because of disuse
