how tough would it be to change out our red guage needles with clear needles so we can use indiglo needles? i think with the stock SE guages at night, indiglo needles would look great (matches the blue in the guages

I wanted to know the same thing

So at Dave Burnette's suggestion, I called a local spedometer shop and they said - No way. They wouldn't do it for me and wouldn't recommend that I do it myself. Says that they are ususally glued onto the shaft and the slightest bit of force could cause the shaft to break and that would be big problems. So, as much as I want them, no indiglo needles for me.

i thought the 4th gen needles still have red on the back...won't that make the indiglo look ugly? or do they have to sand off the red backing? if it is possible to sand off color on the needle, obviously it isn't that tough to take out the needles so obviously we can replace them

I don't know, but you can give it a try and see how it works. If you mess up your gauges, get ready to fork up some major dough.

I believe our SE needles can't be sanded down.

I tore apart the spedo on my old Altima. What a nightmare. I cracked the clear faceplate and my tach was screwed up after that. Not worth it for a pretty color......

I actually bought the indiglo needle kit off of ebay about a year ago but have yet to install them.

I've ogne to a couple of different shops and NO ONE wants to do this
mod. They're all afraid of breaking the shaft.

But my kit didn't come with needles. In fact, it's just some wires that attach onto the face of the gauges directly behind the needles.

I was under the impression that we wouldn't ahve to change the needles
at all.

Any 5th gen owners out there with this mod?
