Battery Tiedown/Ground Issues

So my optima red top sits on top of its cover, giving it the extra inch it needs to fit with the stock tiedown. This makes my ground connection to my transmission very tight. I want to remove the cover underneath the battery so I can some slack in the ground connection.

My Problem : The metal rods that connect to the tie down are not threaded low enough to clamp the battery down further. Does anyone know where I can get replacements for these that have a longer thread? I havent been able to find them in Pep-boys or home depot or anywhere!

Autozone has a shorter length tie-down bar that you can use, I think it's about 8 inches? Only problem is, you can use the wingnuts they provide, but thats nothing two nuts can't fix. It's what I am using for my OYT, no problems at all. Works with the OEM tie-down plate.

i have an optima in my 02
i didnt use the cover because i hated how it looked
all i did was turn the bracket upside down for now just to hold the battery
i recommend getting or making a new bracket because the stock bracket bends around the optima
now i have a new custom made braket that dosent bend and i bought the ties at autozone
