what u plan on pushing with all that power?
i dont mean to hijack but i was thinking of looking into one as well, just wondering if it would be any gain if one was running an udp, i know im spinning my alt slower and im down to 13volts when idleing, i was at 14 b4 the pulley. would a higher powered one, do more bad than good?

I have another amp waiting to go in for the components and I want to do some kind of touch screen in the dash with a hard drive so I can put all my music and movies in one place and never have to deal with cds or DVDs.

i build car sterios all day for peoples cars, its how i pay the bills, so i know alil about what im talking about, are u sure u need a higher power alt, im running just an extra mono block class D amp, nothing to major but its pumping 636watts rms. i hate using watts as a measure of power but its easier to explain that voltage and amperage and such.anyway without my 1 farad cap i noticed a draw, but with it installed i have no problems even with my low 12-13volts.
no need to spend extra money if u dont need to, right

The two options I have heard:
OEM 125A Hitachi Rebuilt Alternator
>220A Alternator from Can Am

I got this for my 2002

here it goes for the 3.0

I love my alternator. Beware voltage is higher then standard so if your equipment doesnt like a 15 volt idle stay away. Im my case my kicker amps shut off at 15.5 volts protection. I had to get a second good battery (deka intimidator) to stabalize the power. When my bass would hit the alternator was so quick to provide power back that the bass would stop and amperage would be there without anymore demand resulting in spikes up to 16 volts. After the second battery added I roam from like 14.7 to 15.3 under all conditions.
I hit 138.8db with my system. Not the greatest but its loud. Rear view mirrrors dont survive in my car. RIP. This alternator is everything it says.
Customer service was amazing when I was dealing with my spikes issue. Very helpful.
