Aftermarket head unit/factory amp

2000 Maxima Bose stereo system. Currently all stock w/ factory sub and amp. Two questions are 1.) Will wiring the 4 aftermarket head unit outputs (40W x 4 chanels) to the 4 (FR,FL,RR,RL) factory amp inputs burn up the factory amp? and 2.) How would you go about wiring the subwoofer? Wire # 12 on the head unit? (Diagram page two of cardomain site)
I'm not very good at attention to detail when it comes to fabrication, so I would like to keep my other controls where they are. That's why I'm trying to steer away from the LCD screen in place of the deck with a different head unit where the heater controls are idea.
Here are the two decks I'm looking at. Both are the same, expect one has more buttons and a built in dvd player, the other needs a dvd player installed in the trunk. (Which I like that idea becuase I can just install a switch for Xbox or dvd player in back and install xbox in the same place.) I'm new to the forum (1 week old) and beleive I would be the only one with this setup. Anywa'ys here are the two links below, for both decks with pricing. (Very cheap)----Also a wiring diagram off of Alldata is on page two of my cardomain webpage. There is a link to it below. Just taking ideas as to what everyone here thought?
Also for power to the xbox/DVD player I would probably slice into my cigarette lighter and hide the power converter in the spare tire area of my trunk. All thoughts are welcome, look forward to them. Thanks again.

From what I've gathered...Pyle is exactly what you first think of when you hear the brand name.

--That's exactly what I thought when I heard the name myself. I may go with another brand, but will probably keep this same type of setup. I like the double din idea.

I may do this one instead.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/KENWO...20795787QQrdZ1

It has two rca inputs, So I could wire xbox and something else up at the same time. Like I said, my main concern is losing the factory sub (see wiring diagram) and burning up my factory amp with 40 or 50 watts per channel going to it. Any thoughts?--

Just a thought, but---I'm somewhat knowledgeable to the theory of electronics. If I found what the factory head unit was pushing out in regard to Watts, and used a resister somewhere in the circuit from the head unit to the factory amp to cut wattage down to factory unit wattage, would that work or cause more problems????----I know I'm getting ready to hear "Why not disable the factory amp and just buy a Solo-Baric two amps,MB quarts and rewire it yourself?"--Well the factory stereo is plenty for me, I've grown out of the whole 10,000 watt stereo fad, Just FYI.

I look forward to any help/constructive criticism, thanks again.

^^^are you serious! You have two options that I would look at doing. One is to buy the bose integration harness made by metra (part# 70-7551) found here harness. I am not saying this is where to buy it from but you can see its purpose. You plug the RCA's into the decks outputs to run low level signal to the bose amp. Not a bad option.

The other option is to bypass your factory amplifier but this isn't really feasible unless your planning on replacing all of your door speakers. The factory speakers are 2 ohm spks so they wont work w/ the 4 ohm outputs on the deck unless driven by the factory amp. If you want to do this though look here.

Also you will want to purchase the GXE dash kit from DaveB. This kit includes the A/C vents up top and the trim around the deck with a double din hole all as one piece. It owns any of the other ugly stand alone kits that just plain stink. Here is the a link for comparison: Trust me on this one

As far as the power inverter for the Xbox...if your going to be running something that large you really need to run a dedicated power wire to the inverter exactly the same as you would for an amplifier. 8 guage will do just fine and make sure you try to stay above 400 watts. I know they advertise that the smaller ones will work but just dont do it if at all possible.

Addressing other issues. There is a reason why those decks are $2--.-- for a double din 7" screen. I am not trying to bash, well maybe I am, but they aren't cheap because they dont play DVD's by themselves. The name is very appropriate. If you really want to get something worth your money than look at Pioneer, Eclipse, Alpine b4 this years models, etc. Dont buy something that will crap out on you after your install a month or two down the road. Trust me I know b/c I see customers heated over this everyday.

Try that out and let me know if there is any other questions.

And for wiring up the factory sub, just integrate with the harness listed above and thats it. The sub will run off of that harness just fine. No special wiring neccesary.

And last but not least, there is an AUDIO AND ELECTRONICS forum on the main page specifically for this. Youll find plenty of info in there.

You will not be able to run your aftermarket radio with the stock bose amp, the speaker wires are ran into the back to the bose amp.

You must by pass the bose amp is you are not going use an aftermarket amp to power your interior speakers.

By pass by simply removing the bose amp and connect the wires back to the speaker wires so that the wire is not passing through the amp

then your set to use ur new HU

Did you not read what I posted above. Youll pop all of your factory speakers within weeks. You can buy the integration harness specifically designed to make an aftermarket HU work with factory amplifiers. Please dont post instructions unless you know what your talking about.

for an awesome deck (D1) and you can input the DVD player as you were already planning on doing. Great quality.
