Where Can I get the Otto Racing FSTB?

I have only seen it offered by pro car parts on ebay and their web site. On ebay they have a poor rating for an eBay store. I run an eBay store and 97% positive is actually a terrible feedback rating, and their price on their website is $70+ shipped. Does anyone know where else I can get an Otto FSTB or have suggestions on other bars that are of equal quality and price. Most people say that a bar is a bar is a bar but most of those hollow aluminum bars on ebay are complete junk. I dont think something I could break over my knee could effectivly stiffen my chassis.

I'm not sure you read my post. And its 32.50 plus $14 for shipping off ebay and like I said they have a poor feedback rating and there are plenty of people on this site who arent happy after dealing with pro car parts. There is a front strut bar on custommaxima.com and it looks solid from the picture, but there is not much info on it and it doesnt seem like anyone on this site has it. Anyone have any info on that bar or others?

http://sportcompactonly.com/ - call them up and ask for Steve to get some org discounts
btw: they have lowest price guarantee policy

Also, check this sticky out next time you will be looking for parts.

hm... never heard never heard of such problems with OTTO. I did trim my brackets but it was not essential to do that.

Dude, just get OTTO. In my opinion it’s the best available after $200 Cattman. When I was looking for FSTB I’ve done a huge research and ended up getting OTTO. Here’s my thread that traces most of the steps I’ve made to end up getting it:

the info I’ve provided here might also be useful:

Sweet.. how long do things usually take to arrive? I will order from the place that gets stuff to me the fastest. I only have about 2 weeks when I'll be home with tools and than I am going back to school, so if the parts get delivered to the house when I'm back at school and I dont have any tools at school the parts are gonna be worthless to me untill I come home again like 6months later.

It was like a week, not more than ten days. But it depends on where you live, it might be quicker than that 'cause I live pretty far from them. If you need it the next day you can ask for overnight delivery.

Sounds like what I'm lookin for. I keep hearing about people who bought from custommaxima.com and redlinemax.com who waited quite a few weeks before their order arrived.. I dont really think thats acceptable for any business and want to make sure I get my stuff in under 2 weeks, which I think is pretty reasonable. The only reason a company wouldent be able to get you something in 2 weeks is because they are advertising products they dont actually have in stock and have to order them.

I am located in MA. Where does sportcompact ship out of?

SCO ships from Cali, CM is way closer to you.

I have the CM FSTB and I love it. I noticed a difference in my handling; much more flat through sweeping turns and it looks really nice.

I think it's somewhere on the west cost, call them up and ask how long it'll take for the bar to arrive.

Just get an eBay FSTB... $25 shipped.... they are all the same and the more expensive ones may be more solid or whatever, but it doesn't matter. They all do the same thing and do it well enough.

I got mine from PCP on ebay also and I didn't have a problem. The FTSB came in its box and the brackets fit perectly. Very satisfied with the item.

if youre talking about decorating the engine bay then they are all the same. My SPW bar off ebay is a piece of crap. Its flimsy and I can bend it with my hands. I gotta get me an OTTO bar...

On the contrary.. I dont care how it looks at all. It is probably 1% of my decision my entire descision is on what bar gives me the best performance for the $, and also ease of installation because I'm a moron when it comes to installing anything.

But I'm working on getting better under the hood. I am tackling the FSTB and Progress RSB in the next few weeks. Both are simple, but I dont even change my own oil and I'm very ashamed of it so thats got to change.

I plan on rebuilding my engine in a month (won't be my first rebuild either. Actually, number three), I've done every mod to my car so far including lowing, FSTB, RSB, intake and cat, I've changed my REAR plugs ('03's suck for that!), cleaned my entire IM by hand, installed any stereo I've ever had, and rebuilt an old S-10 from the ground up minus body work in under a week flat and I still pay to get my oil changed. It's not one of those things I like to screw with just because by the time you buy the oil, change it, clean up, put the bandaids on your knuckles, deal with the wife complaining because you got a stain on your shirt, and get all the grit and oil off your hands it's just not worth the time.

So what does this have to do with FSTBs, George?

Not really, I meant handling charecteristics as well. My eBay one from EB Stores was almost as stiff as the OTTO and definitely wasn't easy to bend. I can't see any significant differences besides looks between the two.

What I don’t like about the ebay bars it that they are all different, so basically, if you are lucky you might get something as good as OTTO or even Cattman for 30 bucks, but if you are not so lucky, you might get something that is very weak and something that needs modification in order to fit.

That is an interesting point, possibly true too.

Btw, I had this FSTB:

It was fine for my purposes and I don't think its any worse than the OTTO.

I have had nothing but luck with OTTO FSTB. I have ordered mine (THREE of them) from ProCarParts, but their customer service DOES suck - thus, I will NEVER purchase from them again.
