Can you replace the headlight wiring harness??? (m)

My driverside headlight was out and as I went to replace the bulb the metal piece came out of the plug and remained attached to the bulb. The dealer said it could be upwards of $700.00 because they don't know the extent of the damage. Can I just replace the plug itself?

TIA

easiest way would be to go to a junkyard and take the whole wiring harness from the engine out of a maxima and put it in yours, or pay an electrical company to do it. i had a short in my turn signals and for $200 I got both turn signal wiring harness's re-wired and the short fixed, its not that big of a deal.

i dont know what kind of bulbs the 2000 has but anything other than the 02-03 hid should be available as a repair kit at autozone/pepboys etc. just cut it out, solder it and heat shrink it and you're good to go. even the hid plugs are available at the dealer(about 60 bucks for the set) sounded like your dealer was either giving you a worst case scenario or theyre trying to ream you

Yes, cut your plug out, then goto your closest autozone/autoparts store, and buy a generic plug just like the one you just cut out, then connect the three wires from the new plug to the three wires going to your old plug (If the colors don't match use an volt meter to figure out the ground from the high beam and low beam) throw on some electrical tape, and then call your stealership and tell them you just saved $692.00 by not bringing your car to them
And if you absolutely must have an OEM Nissan Part, I'll sell you one of mine I cut out to wire in HID's

Do any of you have any information on how to wire the 2k2 hid headlights to a 2k1 max? I have been all over the board and could not find the information. I looked on the installation section and only found dead links. Also, I didnt see anything in the 5th gen section or Google. Can someone point me in the right direction?

buy repair kit at dealer and a test light/multimeter and find out what each wire does. solder and heatshrink tubing.

if you havent messed with electrical wiring before i wouldnt suggest it as your first attempt.
