Doing a 5 spd conversion.

Hey guys i'm doing a 5spd conversion very soon, i'm just getting the parts ready, but i was looking for a ECU. I currently have a 2001 , and i was wondering if i could use an ECU from a 2000, or does it have it be an ECU from a 2001.

The 00 and 01 ecu's are different, not to mention that the 00 will be looking for an EGR, something the 01's dont have. I would stick with an 01 ECU, if you are not going to use that 01 Auto ECU let me know, I would like one to see if it can get rid of my damn CEL for my EGR.

don't use the 00 ECU brian!! Another thing to note is try to get the same year or later production date 01 ECU.

When I was doing testing for TS on the 01 ecu, I had to use a older ECU and kept getting the infamous P0420 code because it ran on a different version of software vs. the current most updated version on my ecu that was sent back to japan

Do you know if the 01? ECU will work alright in a 00'? Assuming it has the same features, Auto, ABS, TC, 17's as my car.
