Tranny Issue

Hey folks... I have an 02 SE, 46,000 miles on it. Recently, I have felt a kind of jump/lurch when accelerating between 1st and 2nd gear. The issue only happens when you get it to about 3200 RPM. I also notice that there is a delay in changing gears. However, I am aware of the transmission on this car does that on purpose to ensure smoothe feeling to the gear shifting. I took it to the dealership, who I am friends with the owner. They took it for a ride, found nothing, checked out the tranny, and engine for error codes, and found nothing. So I got into the car with the service MGR. and I took it for a spin, but couldnt get the car to do the big jump, just small minor ones. My issue is, what if the tranny isnt bad now, but at 53,000 miles it gets really bad. I am sure my friend would help me out, but maybe some of you guys have an idea of something else that could be wrong with the car? Any help is welcomed. Thanks.

WOT = wide open throttle = pin the right pedal through 1-2..
VB = Valve body, semi-common problem with A33 transmissions.

does this seem to only happen when cold? cause if it does then its somewhat normal and its just cause the trans is bein goofy in order to warm up the ATF.

Is it throwing a SES? It could be the solenoid pack. Let me know what the code is. I have a solenoid pack for sale btw.

Sry for the delay in all the answers. No error codes were spit out, so no I dont need to pack as of now (Sorry). Also, it doesn't always happen in the cold, it happens in all weather. Last question, what should I be feeling for when I pin it from a stop? Thanks

how about change your fluid? i've done a drain/fill with my last couple oil changes and i'm very happy with the way the tranny behaves now. no more confused shifts or clunking into gear, everything is as smooth as they were when i was 10k...(i have almost 49k now)

46k, you're due for a flush. I had this problem with my 2000 at about the same mileage. I took it to the dealer and they updated the software which fixed the problem.

By the way, your transmission will still be under warranty at 53k so I wouldn't worry. Don't just change your fluid. Get your
