changing ur fog bulbs from above. 00/01s

well i finally (less than a week) got my hid fogs, i had a decent 8000k set but theyve been a pain so i got a new set of 6000ks.

anyway, ive changed my fogs lights many times on my 00. i remember last time i had my headlights off it was really easy to get to the fogs thru the opening. since a freind of mine had my jack i thought id attempt to change over my hid kit entirely from above the car. im dropped pretty decent so there wasnt any room to play with anyway.

anyway. with the exception of the screws that hold the fogs in from the bottom. imo it was easier to swap the bulbs from the top than from the bottom. the pressure points, if thats what u can call them. just pop out when pushed from the top. as im sure most of us know the 00-01 headlights might as well held in my velcro so that takes 2minutes maximum.

also, when redoing the fogs i decided to realign them. seems something that would need to be done. well i dont know how anyone does it from undernieth. but with the headlights off u can adjust the fogs accurately. cause the cars at its normal driving stance.

last thing, an 8mm socket, i think thats the size, to adjust, not the phillipshead screw, those strip really easy.

i know my tid bit of info isnt the next sliced bread, but hey i wish i knew this last time i did my fogs.

Yeah, I noticed this too when I installed my HID headlights. With the headlights out, it makes it easier to get to the fogs and pop them out. I tackled it this way one time and it was quite easier than from underneath the car.

That's really cool info. I wanted to examine the fog light housing, but was discouraged when I though about all those times I had to be on my back lying down and removing all those panels. And I just need to take a look at one side to see if I can do this retrofit or not.

cuts and scratches!!

Man!!! I wish I knew that earlier, I went through the bottom to get to my fogs when I switched them out for my HIDs. All of those covers and flaps and stuff I has nice cuts and scratches squeezing my hand through tight openings on one passanger side. Is it easy to remove the headlights. should just be the screws on top right? and if it is...no wonder our HID headlights were stolen so easily.
