Replace parking light lens in 02-03 headlight

I replaced my parking light bulbs about a month ago from. I believ ei got them from autolumination.com. A bunch of people recommended them to me then today i found out that they burnt right through my plastic lens on my 02-03 headlights. I have a 2001 max but i swapped headlights with the 02-03. So now i need to open these headlights up and replace the parking light lens. So my quesiton is where can i buy a replacement lens so that i can fix both my headlights? I am definetly going back to my polarg m4's in the parking lights!@!

Wow! Never heard of this happening before. The parking light bulb is only 5W max! It shouldn't get that hot to melt the lens. What was the wattage of your bulbs you put in? I have been running Polarg's in mine and never had a problem. To replace your lens, though, I would do the Malibu lens mod (like the clear turn signal lens mod), or maybe buy some wrecked up headlights (with no bulbs and ballasts) and use the lens from there. I'm just curious, though, what exactly kind of bulb did you use? I have bought bulbs from autoillumination before and never had a problem with their products and service. Do you have a link?

You can buy the Malibu lens from Home Depot. It's real cheap, less than $10.00. Just look in the outside lighting department and look for a package marked "Malibu". All it is, is a package of 2 round-shaped lights. You just want the lens cover from it. Bake your headlights in the oven for about 15 min. at 250 degrees and open them up. Pry apart lens from headlamp. Remove the parking light lens from the headlight. Trace lens over the Malibu one, cut with a Dremel and replace. Place headlights back in oven (until glue softens back up) and remove and tighten lens back on to headlamp. Your done!

Only problem you'll have is finding these Malibu lenses in Canadian Home Depot stores. I've tried everywhere and was unable to find them up in Canada. It doesn't hurt to give it a try, but if not you'll have to get someone in the states to buy you a set.
