Does anyone know how to change the whole windshild wiper.

Well my ex went crazy and tore off my passenger windshield wiper. She literally broke the metal part off, like the whole arm is missing and left me with like a 2 inch arm hanging out of the car.. So now i been riding around with 1 side of the window clean. I decided to fix it, but I don't know what I need to buy and how to change it out. can someone help me.

I think you need the whole Arm Assembly... Im not exactly sure how but pretty sure you can attach the new arm on the motor and it should fix it right up...

Anyway, I'd go to a dealer and just have the service manager or a tech look at what part needs to be replaced. Get the part number, fake like you're going to get one then go home and call DAVEB.

Yeah, they probably will. If they have to replace the whole arm they will probably charg .5-1 hour of labor.

That woman was probably just replacing her "blades" as you said. Not the entire arm. She got ripped off as well if that's the case.

I agree with Progress about dealers charging the amounts they do for a job.

As for dealer prices, I was at the dealer yesterday checking out the 2006 350z, saw a guy paying 10 bucks for 2 lug nuts that was missing from his xterra.

What you need are the Wiper Pivots and Wiper arms. Pop the lil black cap at the bottom end that contains a 10mm or 11mm nut. Gotta pop your hood too.. the rest is quite simple...

That involves the spring that keeps the arm down, correct? I might consider ordering two new arms as mine are rusted and look like azz from above.

I don't think any springs are necessary. When I got my windshield replaced they popped those caps and unbolted the arm. He just rebolted it right back on when done. I didn't notice any springs.

I thought you were talking about where the arm "breaks" to be accessed. There is definitely a spring there. But I guess if you have to replace the arm all the way down to where it mounts the pivoting part (closer to the motor) then the spring would be part of that whole package and would come with it.

Ohh at the midsection, yes there's a spring there.

Good thinking!

Hopefully the entire arm is available as an assembly.
