HID reverse lights

Anybody ever install HIDs in their reverse lights? Just wondering if it's possible, if its been done before and how it looks.

Umnitza.com sells them. It's very possible.

it looks....like a bright reverse light! (shocker!)

there's a reason nobody (that I've ever heard of) has actually bought these - because they are completely pointless! I mean, it's not like you're driving around backwards all over the place

Seriously. It really was a terrible idea in the first place. Debasing an H3 bulb is a MUCH MUCH better alternative with nearly identical results. Plus you'll save yourself $195. =O

i honestly think that is one of the most unneeded mods...unless you need to replace the bulb, those things are on like 5 seconds if ever in a day..headlights are more practical for HId but reverse lights? i agree with NYPD-Arnold

Just get rid of the metal base of the H3 bulb and slap it into the socket of the reverse bulb. Look at the socket, look at the original bulb, and look at the H3 bulb -- you should figure it out. I never did, but my boy PoLo did.

I'm going to Marcos sometime soon to do this as well. So hard to see out the back with 20% tints and no street lights. Hope this helps.

LEFT H3, RIGHT OEM (in the 2nd picture, note how the strength of the H3 allows light to shine off the floor, where as the OEM bulb, NOPE.

Ehh, sorry. No pics, to much rain. All you do is remove all the metal from the bulb. Then, bend the two contacts so that they sit flush against the glass (in opposite directions). Then, you have to cut a piece off the wire in the harness (where the bulb will sit). Thats all....took us about 30min for the first bulb, maybe 5 min for the second.

Well, when I say dark at night....I mean no street lights. In NYC I don't have to worry. Go out to NJ or Philly....I can't see anything behind me.

About touching the bulbs, I used my stockers so I don't care if they die faster. The next set I will use a paper towel or gloves.
