keyless entry

A friend of mine recently bought a loaded '01 SE, but she didnt get a keyless entry fob, and not sure if the car has that option. Was it an option, or standard equipment? If its an option, how can one tell that the car has it? Thanks in advance....

She can probably take it to the dealer (or at least the VIN) and ask them about it. If the car came with keyless entry from the factory, you can easily buy another remote on eBay with instructions. Else, time to check out the local stores' DEI selection.

It was a standard feature, go on to ebay and get them cheap. Then I think any locksmith can program them (much cheaper than a dealer).

^ Yeah, the dealer will be insane for reprogramming. I asked about a second remote for my 2000 GLE and they wanted $114. They're about $20-$25 on eBay.

It is definatly standard equipement. You can buy a new remote on Ebay for $13 and they usually come with instructions. You can program them yourself. If it doesnt come with directions, I know the directions are floating around somewhere here on the org.
